Sunscreen should be our everyday essentials all year long. But choosing the right sunscreen is not easy at all. It’s really annoying when you have to choose sunscreens either super thick or with low SPF. But then I found my favorite, Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection, the perfect balance between a light texture and a high SPF.
Clarins tend to make products with delightful scent. And this UV Plus cream, though not good as others, has a lovely scent as a sunscreen. It has a mainly plant scent with subtle alcohol smell. But no need to be appalled, alcohol is widely used in sunscreens and it won’t cause any troubles as long as you don’t have a super sensitive skin type.
What really amazed me is its texture. As a sunscreen features a high protection of SPF 40, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. Sunscreens with high SPF like that tend to be heavy and stifling, which is such a torture in extreme hot weathers. Clarins HP Day Screen is actually a runny lotion as you can see in the picture. It blends quickly and takes in very well, leaving no signs of white strips on your face. You will feel a little sticky feeling at first, but as the product blending in, it would turn to a rather powdery touch instead. With many heavy sunscreens, I could barely use other products afterwards whereas this one goes perfectly well with all my moisturizers and foundations.
With a 100% mineral filter, Clarins HP Day Screen helps shield the harmful sunlight and provide long time protection. Even with a high SPF of 40, it won’t give you an oily look even after a whole day. According to the ingredient list, the screen contains 8.1% of titanium dioxide, a highly effective sun shield, which makes it a reliable product in summertime. Here’s the complete ingredient list
Clarins HP Day Screen comes in normal and tinted types. I’ve tried the tinted pink and beige one. They can make the tone of my face look even and brighter. With the product I can even skip my foundation most of the time! Just a little finish powder will make you look natural and glowing. Tinted ones are great for oily skins or normal skins in summer. But if you’ve got dry skin or plan to use it in winter, the original one would be a better choice. Regarding to the price, $42.00 for a 1.7 oz package is certainly not a bargain to say the least. But considering the long protection and the lovely texture, Clarins HP Day Screen definitely worthies a try.
