Launched in 2007, Pai Skincare is a London-based brand that offers “organic solutions for sensitive skin”. The company has a wide range of products like moisturizers, facial oils, cleansers, exfoliators, and eye and lip care products. Known as ‘experts on sensitive skin’, Pai products are formulated with sensitive and allergy-prone skin in mind.Pai Lotus & Orange Blossom BioAffinity toner is a pH balanced toner that is recommended for dry, sensitive and/or mature skin. The product claims to hydrate and protect these skin types, calm visible redness and improve skin tone and texture. Like all other Pai products, this toner is 100 percent alcohol-free.
The Pai Lotus & Orange Blossom BioAffinty toner is packaged elegantly. Available in a 1.7 fl. ounce or 50 ml bottle, the BioAffinty toner comes in an elegant and understated box. The bottle itself is built of clouded glass, which is almost opaque but allows you to see how much of the toner is left. Unlike regular toners, the Pai Lotus & Orange Blossom BioAffinty toner comes equipped with a spray nozzle. Instead of using a cotton wipe, this toner can be directly sprayed onto the skin and allowed to air dry. The trademark Pai lettering is floral and in sync with the overall brand identity. Despite of the beautiful look, you'd have to bear with the lousy spray to be honest. The spray system, though handy, fails to deliver an even effect on the skin.
Most toners tend to be little more than fragrant rose water mixed with alcohol. The Lotus toner is completely alcohol free. It has a nutrient rich formula containing vitamins, minerals and amino-acids. This elixir is created with sensitive skin in mind, so it is light and does not burn. Skin is left feeling hydrated and light. There is none of the dryness that you would experience after an alcohol-toner strips the skin of its natural oil.
Made of pure ‘living water’ from lotus roots and orange blossoms or neroli, the toner has a gentle smell. Orange blossoms smell fresh, citrusy and provide a fragrance that lasts a long time. The toner offers all of this and more. There is no cloying smell that sticks to your skin. Since it is meant to be air dried, the light toner leaves a gentle misty fragrance in its wake. Well, one don't throw away a pretty bottle like this. The empty bottle makes a marvelous vase!
Toners tend to be too harsh on skin, most of them are accompanied with a burning or tingling sensation that can be quite difficult for sensitive skin to handle. There is none of that in the Lotus toner. After use, skin feels fresh, light, clean and oil-free without drying out. With regular usage, the antioxidant properties of the lotus and skin regeneration properties of the orange blossom begin to show effect. Skin feels bright and it helps lessen the appearance of thread veins and scars.
This is where the Pai Lotus toner Toner packs an organic punch. The brand is very transparent about the ingredients they use. Every tiny detail about the ingredients is clearly displayed. Not only is 100 percent alcohol free, it is also completely pH balanced. Lotus is one of the powerful ingredients used in the toner. It inhibits the release of molecules of neuropeptides that are responsible for skin flares, while soothing irritated skin. It has been hailed for its skin regenerative powers. Easily, the most interesting ingredient in the Lotus Toner is the ‘living waters’ it contains. Living waters are the pure vegetable waters that are extracted from inside the plant. They contain a complicated blend of water-soluble vitamins, mineral salts, amino acids and trace elements. A special process is used to extract the living waters from the lotus plant, so as to not damage or contaminate the delicate and heat-sensitive compounds it contains. All the ingredients are extracted from natural origins. The complete ingredient list:
Available in one size, this 1.7 fl. ounce or 50 ml bottle is priced at $56. Though this amount may be considered pricey when compared with other drugstore toners, the ingredients are top quality, and quality never comes cheap.
