Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase Review
Hydrating your skin is the primary task of all time, no matter summer or winter. Even you have super oily skin, you need to make sure that you have fed your skin enough water. Because oily skin normally has internal water shortage. So it’s beyond important to pick up efficient hydrating skincare product. Recently I’ve been using the Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase, and I absolutely adore it.
The Clarins HydraQuench series is definitely my favorite. Earlier I’ve done a review on Clarins Hydraquench Melt Cream, they are the best hydrating set I’ve ever used. For the complete review of the cream, please check here.
Packaging & Texture
The first thing that impressed me is the packaging of this serum. It comes with a blue bottle which is made up of thick ground glass, and has a matte golden cover on the top. This tall and slim bottle looks luxurious and tasty, maybe a little bit too tall to fit inside a makeup table drew, but looks really pretty to stand on the top of it.
Open up the golden lid, you can find a pump in it, by the way, a big thumbs up for the pump. I always find a pump is much more convenient and hygeian than a dropper. It prevents the product from the air and also easy for me to control amount.
Speak of the texture of this serum, it’s frankly a bit of a marvel. You have to give it a really good shake before use to make sure it all goes together nicely, and you are getting the best of the ingredients. The first time I tried it on the counter I was so surprised by the fluid texture of it, and also slightly disconcerted. Because this does in no way feel like a traditional hydrating serum. But after I press it into my skin, I fell in love with it immediately. This hydrating serum is not remotely heavy or greasy, but very moisturizing and do not have a oily finish.
How to Apply
I use this serum both morning and evening, and each time for one pump. After shake the product well, take one or two pumps onto your hands and warm it up. Then gently press the oil on to your skin from the forehead towards neck. I think it works well with any kind of moisturizer. As it has a light oil texture, the serum goes on really smooth and invisible. After massage, face won’t appear shinning at all.
There is another interesting method of using this serum. You can mix it with your foundation (better with the thicker ones). It will make your foundation a lot lighter and more moisturizing.
The main ingredients of Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase are katafray extract, hyaluronic acid, sorbier bud extract, chondrus crispus extract and inca peanut extract. All five of them are great for hydrating and smooth skin, but if your skin is allergic to acid, you should test it before purchasing.

|Summary: Great hydrating serum for all skin types. Easy to use and can be quickly absorbed by skin. Works impressively well under your makeup or mix with foundation. Both of it’s packaging and texture are excellent and unique. Also the price is not as high as other high end serums. This Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase is definitely the serum that you won’t regret purchasing.|
