Hewlett Placard built Pavilion computers to attract casual users who want a workable and easy-to-use computing device that does not come with a heavy price. Earlier, only desktops were made at an economical price. Today, HP Pavilion 15 is another Pavilion model – but a low-priced laptop. College-going students often vie for this model as it inexpensive yet allows all the tasks that a high-end multimedia laptop will provide. Find out if this 15-inch HP Pavilion meets the budget laptops.

HP Pavilion 15 is a classy laptop at a first glance. A perfectly angular design that is just 22mm thick, the product is just similar to an ultrabook. It is 15.18 inches long and 10.16 inches wide. It is lightweight and weighs only 1.7kg.

The black and grey colored chassis looks trendy. The entire kit is made up of magnesium alloy and aluminum. The island-style keyboard has a numeric keypad. There is a comfortable arm-rest to allow the users to type in without hurting the wrist or the palm. Various ports are suitably placed on the sides of the display unit. In short, the design is not bad compared to the other laptops in the market.

Pavilion 15 laptop is equipped with the Bobcat-based AMD quad-core A6-5200. The processor has been made for mobile computing gadgets that accelerate the speed of the mini-computer to 2.0GHz. With 2MB L2 cache option and 4-core processing unit, the laptop functions quite well.

Backed by an equally powerful internal memory of processor 6GB DDR3L SDRAM with two DIMM slots, the laptop is all set to store data, images, videos or seamlessly execute programs without any glitches. The storage option is a non-SSD one – the 750GB hard disk that has the power of producing a spin speed of 5400 rpm. Although, the laptop does not have the benefits of SSD (such as fast booting time or quick start-up action), yet it has HP’s special ProtectSmart security utility. This makes the computer safe from the hands of hackers and malware programs.

The 15.6-inch display is made of BrightView technology that provides high-density images. There is an LED-backlight as well. Users can slide in a DVD or CD in the SuperMulti optical device to see movies or hear music. The screen resolution is moderate at 1366×768 pixels. However, there isn’t any touchscreen in this model. So, even if the operating system is Win 8, users will not be able to use all the features of this OS.

The laptop is capable of connecting wirelessly. There is a 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN option through the RJ-45 connector. However, the Pavilion model does not have Bluetooth connection.  It also has one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, HDMI connectivity, and a headphone-microphone jack. The audio utility in this laptop is DTS Sound.

The performance of this mid-range laptop is quite impressive as it allows seamless normal computing activities. Users can see a moderately heavy 3D video game, chat up with friends, wirelessly connect with the social media network, or login to an educational portal with ease.

There is a dedicated 3053MB graphics memory as well to support this effort. For continuous and comfortable computing, the HP model has HP CoolSense utility that keeps the gadget cool by adjusting the fan speed.

The HD webcam is capable of producing best images even in low light. It is compatible with HP TrueVision technology. So, users can click videos, have discussions virtually, or watch movies without any interruption. The laptop has unique security options. For instance, there is a many-format digital media card reader to ensure secured transaction of data while using digital cards.

The website offers a series of downloads and drivers, which can be downloaded for free. The HP Pavilion 15 has one-year hardware warranty and free technical support services. Users are requested to call the technical assistants at the toll-free number to solve technical issues concerning the laptop.
